Fluoroquinolones.org is down « Thread Started on Aug 9, 2009, 3:53am »
Hi ,
The reference site http://www. fluoroquinolones.org is down. If it does not recover there is a need to display the Flox Report (FLOX%20REPORT-REV%2011) somehere else.
I have the file on my PC (3,425 Kb), is it possible to display it permanently on this forum ?

Frankly, I think we're better off without the flox report. There is considerable information on the net about fqs for people contemplating taking them. And for those unfortunate enough to have already been floxed, the flox report does nothing but add panic and fear to a situation already unbearably difficult, as most people will assume they are a severe case.
So, I say "good riddance". I for one will not miss one bit.

Allergicgirl,
I think that the Flox Report has a very high value for floxed persons. When I read it, with the full descriptions of the symptoms, I had to admit that I was floxed. If I ignored that I could take a quinolone again and trigger a relapse.
Information also exists in forums but it is scattered. The Flox Report is much more precise and concentrated.
In addition, I am involved in some actions to warn people so that they will not be floxed. This means posting in standard medical forums (not victim forums). Because when people visit victim forums it is already too late.
In standard forums I must prove that quinolones have severe adverse effets, which is not so easy. Then rather than talking only in my own name it is very convenient to add a link to an appropriate chapter of the Flox Report, which gives a correct explanation, written with the help of doctors, using appropriate medical terms, and illustrated by graphs.
I wonder why the site is down. It is a good news for the labs since probably they didn’t like the little bottles with the skulls associated with the names of their products.

I emailed T. Boomer and he said he is working on updating his site. He said he is encountering many problems with his hosting server. With the help of some others he has started the process to translate the flox report into Spanish and German. He said this is a very long and hard process since he is still fighting his symptoms and dealing with some other issues. He mentioned he is getting a better site to host his Flox report. He said the site should be up by the end of the year.

it will be very useful, for Lariam sufferers too. I will be putting up lots of info during the next few weeks, research, and You Tube vids on the blog. Have you any ideas about posting FOR prevention?
When I typed in "The Flox Report" in Search, clicked on The Flox Report, which then went to eHow, but couldn't find it!
Oh, I just saw it as an attachment and downloaded it on the Mac. How would I link it to my blog?? There are no urls for the pdf. here on the Mac. Should I save it as HTML??
It would be useful as you mentioned for the Lariam victims. Lariaminfo.org is a good resource.
I wish I could be more helpful on some of the other information you posted. I will private message you if I can think of some things to help. Thanks.
Yes, please do, John. I have a few ideas, but need to make sure all the info weaves nicely, culminating in bringing hope concerning resolution of symptoms, and steer away from the doom and gloom...

I saved the entire flouoroquinolones site to my computer - all the files and all the graphics - all the case reports everything. Just in case it did ever go down.

Alex: how did you save all those files? I would like to do the same.
